Pulling the Fish Together

Project Diktuon

The chances are that if you are reading this, you already are contributing to Project Diktuon.

As “Project Diktuon” is rather a tag for an open ended endeavour for certain goals, than an entity controlled or driven by anyone, everyone contributing to those goals is, per definitio, contributing to Project Diktuon.

One could say that the project is inclusive: it includes everyone who is working for it, whether or not she knows about the project. From another point of view it is very exclusive: only spiritual people committed to following Christ can be building the Kingdom, as without Him working in us we cannot do anything.

Therefore this topic divides into two cases:

  1. How can one contribute to Project Diktuon in the first place, and

  2. How can one contribute Project Diktuon better?

In either case, we need to go to the Cross and surrender. Consider ourselves dead and living only in the resurrection of Christ. If this is new to you, I recommend Watchman Nee’s “The Normal Christian Life” as an excellent primer.

As for the second case, that’s why I’m building Diktuon.net.

Diktuon.net is not the answer. It may contribute to the project, but I’m not saying I have the answers. I believe you have them. By hope is, that Diktuon.net might help you to share them, and gain answers from others contributing to Project Diktuon. The humble aim of the site is to build a platform, where you can share your questions and what you have learned; a virtual community, which naturally extends into a real-life network of like-minded individuals; a place where like-minded people can find each other and co-operate.

Diktuon.net

Here’s how to contribute to Diktuon.net.

  1. You have to be contributing to Project Diktuon.

  2. Pray, if this is really something God wants you to be involved in.

  3. Drop me a note. Tell me something about yourself and what you’d like to do. Or ask for suggestions.

  4. Start cooking some Stone soup.

Having done that, the next natural question would be, what can you do for Diktuon.net. I would like to turn that question the other way around: what could Diktuon.net do for you?

Social

  • Be a topic for prayer. Maybe God has given your heart to pray for us? Not only any things in the Project Diktuon, but specifically in issues related to Diktuon.net.

  • Get involved. Keep in touch, give feedback and encourage. Give input to the ideas covered in this document – starting from the theology and outlined policies all the way to any spelling mistakes.

  • Start using the services. Provide content. You are the reason people come to the site, not the site itself. Let us aggregate your blog. Or even host your homepage, or blog. Maybe even set you email addresses. And help establishing a social networking site.

  • Share forward. Tell people about this endeavour and provide material for that purpose. If you know someone who could be interested in contributing to Project Diktuon this way, give him a tip.

  • If God insists that you should pay some of the bills, that should help your conscience.

Technical

  • Features development. Maybe enhanced security or privacy services, such as secure email or encrypted storage space? Diktuon.net is designed to be extendible to such.

  • If you want to use the platform setup somewhere else – e.g. for building similar network in Australia, you are welcome.

  • Artwork. Both on the site and in the material telling about the it and the Project.

  • Documentation.

If you want to do something not listed here, be creative. The technical platform is designed to be flexible, scalable and extensible. I want you to show where you want to take this thing, and give you means to get there.

Contact, if any of these rings a bell. You can start cooking the Stone Soup.
